“Dear Summer BBQ”was founded by alumni of prestigious Historically Black Colleges & Universities’ (HBCU) Virginia State University & Delaware State University. The event started out as a BBQ in Harlem amongst a few friends from various states who wanted to come together annually. It has since transformed into a “Summer Homecoming” that brings together HBCU alumni, Greek organizations, creatives, entertainers, & influencers nationwide.

Whether kicking off the season, or saying goodbye, Dear Summer BBQ is an event to network, fellowship & genuinely have a great time. “Dear Summer BBQ” is an experience that encompasses all aspects of what the everyday person imagines when the weather is warm! It is where amazing food, people, and performances all blossom under one roof.
